For the Filling
  • 1 cup Bacon Jam adds a sweet and smoky depth
  • 1 lb Ground Beef use 80/20 for a juicy filling
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese lends a creamy texture
  • 2 tablespoons Green Onions chopped for freshness
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce adds umami
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder provides aromatic flavor
For the Wrapping and Frying
  • 12 count Egg Roll Wrappers for encasing the filling
  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil for frying

Method
 

Instructions
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until it’s no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in the bacon jam, soy sauce, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined.
  3. Remove from heat, and fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and finely chopped green onions.
  4. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface. Place two tablespoons of the beef mixture in the center, then fold up the bottom corner, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly to seal.
  5. In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the egg rolls in batches for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Remove the egg rolls from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
